Electronics Prototyping Breadboard Examples

Breadboard diagrams show physical component placement on a prototyping board — where each component sits, which tie-points connect, and how power rails are wired — before moving to a PCB.

How to

How to use a breadboard template.

  1. 01List the components

Name each component (LED, resistor, Arduino, sensor) and the AI places it on the breadboard in a logical layout.

  2. 02Describe the wiring

Say which pin connects to which — power rail, ground, specific rows — and the AI draws the color-coded wires.

  3. 03Add power connections

Specify the power source (5V, 3.3V, USB) and where it connects to the power rails.

  4. 04Export for assembly

Export as PNG for the project guide, tutorial, or shared build documentation.

FAQ

Questions about breadboard templates

What is a breadboard diagram?

A visual representation of a circuit laid out on a solderless breadboard, showing the physical position of each component and the routing of jumper wires. Used in prototyping documentation and maker tutorials.

How does a breadboard work?

A breadboard has rows of connected tie-points: in the main area, each row of 5 holes is connected internally (A–E, F–J). The two rails at the top and bottom of the board are connected vertically for power (+) and ground (−).

What is the difference between a breadboard diagram and a circuit diagram?

A circuit diagram shows logical connections using schematic symbols. A breadboard diagram shows the physical layout on the actual board. For prototyping, you need both: the schematic for understanding the circuit, the breadboard diagram for building it.
