Nothing close enough? Start from a blank logic gate diagram → Describe it in one paragraph.
How to use a logic gate diagram template.
- 01Define the number of floors
Start with the floor count: "draw elevator control logic for a 4-floor building with up/down call buttons on each floor".
- 02Specify the priority scheme
State whether to use nearest-floor, highest-floor, or FIFO priority. The AI adjusts the encoder and comparator logic accordingly.
- 03Add door control logic
Ask to "add door open/close gating with a safety interlock that prevents movement while the door sensor is active".
- 04Include direction indicators
Request up/down direction outputs so the diagram shows how floor-select logic determines motor direction.
- 05Export for the lab report
Download the schematic as PNG or SVG to include in your digital logic design assignment.
Questions about logic gate diagram templates
Is this a combinational or sequential logic design?
The floor-selection and priority logic is combinational. A full elevator controller also includes sequential state logic (idle, moving-up, moving-down, door-open) — you can ask ChatDiagram for either or both.
Can I use a priority encoder in the design?
Yes. Ask for a "74148-style 8-to-3 priority encoder" for the call buttons and ChatDiagram will incorporate it into the schematic with the correct pin connections.
How do I add a safety interlock for the door sensor?
Describe the interlock requirement: "prevent motor activation when door-open sensor is HIGH". The AI adds an AND gate that masks the motor-drive output when the door sensor is active.
Can I get the Boolean expression alongside the circuit?
Yes. After generating the diagram ask "show the Boolean expressions for each output" and ChatDiagram will list the logic equations in the chat.
