Nothing close enough? Start from a blank circuit diagram → Describe it in one paragraph.
How to use a circuit diagram template.
- 01Specify input source and output requirements
Example: 'AC 120V mains input, full-wave bridge rectifier, 7805 linear regulator, 5V 1A output with LED indicator.' Or for switching: 'buck converter from 12V to 3.3V at 1A, synchronous, 500kHz switching frequency.'
- 02AI generates the power stage
ChatDiagram draws the rectifier, filter caps, regulator, and output components. For SMPS it adds the switching transistor or controller IC, inductor, output diode, and feedback divider.
- 03Add filtering and protection
Request input and output bulk capacitors, EMI filter on the AC input, reverse polarity protection MOSFET, or an output crowbar with SCR. The AI inserts these into the existing schematic.
- 04Annotate component values
Ask ChatDiagram to calculate inductor and capacitor values for a target switching frequency and ripple current. It will annotate the schematic with computed values.
- 05Export for PCB designers
Export the schematic as SVG or PNG to share with your PCB layout engineer or paste into your design specification.
Questions about circuit diagram templates
Can ChatDiagram draw a full AC mains to DC regulated supply?
Yes. Describe the transformer ratio, bridge rectifier, filter capacitor, and regulator IC. ChatDiagram will draw the complete schematic from mains input to DC output with all component values.
Does it support switch-mode power supply (SMPS) topologies?
Yes. Describe buck, boost, buck-boost, or flyback topologies and the AI will generate the appropriate switching circuit with controller IC, gate drive, magnetics, and feedback network.
How do I show a multi-output supply (e.g., ±12V and 5V)?
Describe all output rails in your prompt. ChatDiagram will generate a center-tapped transformer circuit or a multi-winding SMPS with separate regulators for each rail.
Can it include inrush current limiting?
Yes. Ask for an NTC thermistor or relay-bypassed resistor inrush limiter on the AC input and ChatDiagram will add it to the circuit.
