What an Azure architecture diagram is.
An Azure architecture diagram shows the Azure services in a solution and how traffic or data moves between them. It can make the public edge, virtual network, application workloads and data services easy to identify.
Use it to communicate the design at service level. Add the gateways, firewalls and private connections that determine how traffic reaches the workload, then refine the diagram as the design changes.

Common questions
What is an Azure architecture diagram?
It is a diagram of Azure services, virtual networks and the connections between them. It helps a team communicate a solution's traffic flow and service boundaries.
Which Azure services can I show?
Describe the Azure services that matter to the solution, such as Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, App Service, AKS, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage and ExpressRoute.
Can an Azure diagram show on-premises connectivity?
Yes. Show the on-premises router or network, then include the gateway and connection, such as ExpressRoute, that reaches the Azure virtual network.
What is a hub-spoke Azure network?
It is a network design in which shared connectivity and controls are placed in a hub, while application workloads sit in separate spoke virtual networks.
