What is a welding diagram and when do I use it?
A welding diagram uses standardized reference-line symbols (AWS A2.4 or ISO 2553) to communicate weld type, size, and process to fabricators and inspectors. Use it on engineering drawings whenever you need to specify joint details without ambiguity.
Which weld types does the tool support?
The tool covers fillet, V-groove, bevel, U-groove, J-groove, flare-V, flare-bevel, plug, slot, spot, seam, backing, and surfacing welds — matching the full AWS A2.4 weld-type set. Specify intermittent welds with length and pitch, and add contour or finish symbols as needed.
