A construction risk matrix gives a team one view of the hazards present on a site. Place each hazard by the likelihood that it will occur and the severity of the possible harm. The point is to guide controls, not to replace a task-specific assessment. Use terms that describe actual work, such as temporary power or scaffolding, so the crew can connect each dot with the right precautions. Discuss the scores with people who know the work, then record the controls, owner, and review point outside the chart. Update the matrix as trades, equipment, weather, crews, or site controls change.
