How to

How to use a funnel chart template.

  1. 01Define the levels

List the tiers from bottom (broadest/most foundational) to top (narrowest/most exclusive).

  2. 02Name each tier

Label each level — the AI will size the tiers proportionally based on relative rank or volume.

  3. 03Add context labels

Include sub-descriptions or counts per tier if you want to show what each level represents numerically.

  4. 04Export or present

Pyramid charts export cleanly to PNG/SVG and fit naturally in presentations and reports.

FAQ

Questions about funnel chart templates

When should I use a pyramid chart vs a funnel chart?

Pyramid charts show a ranked hierarchy with the foundation at the bottom (Maslow, org chart, market segments). Funnel charts show a linear conversion process where each stage loses volume. If your shape represents a ratio of people at each level — not a process — use a pyramid.

Can I show percentages at each level?

Yes — describe the relative size of each tier and the AI will label them. This is useful for org pyramids where each tier might represent 10–15% of total headcount.

Can I invert the pyramid?

Yes — describe an inverted pyramid (apex at the bottom) to show an inverted hierarchy, such as a servant-leadership model or an inverted market-share view.
