The drawing

What a family genogram is.

A family genogram is a family relationship diagram that can also record clinical and social information. In addition to parents, partners, and children, it can show health conditions, deaths, separations, close bonds, conflict, cutoffs, and other patterns relevant to the purpose of the chart.

A genogram is more detailed than a basic family tree. It helps a practitioner or student look for recurring patterns across generations while keeping the family structure visible.
