What an LDAP diagram is.
An LDAP diagram shows the directory hierarchy and the systems that use it. It can map a base DN to organizational units and entries, or show how an application binds to a directory to search users and groups.
Use labels for the distinguished names, client connections and access roles that matter to the audience. Do not place bind passwords, tokens or other secrets in a shared diagram.

Common questions
What is an LDAP diagram?
It is a visual description of a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol environment, including directory entries, organizational units, servers, clients and access relationships.
What is the LDAP directory tree?
The tree starts at a base distinguished name, then branches into organizational units and individual entries such as users, groups and service accounts.
How do I show LDAP versus LDAPS?
Label each client connection with its transport and port, for example LDAP 389 or encrypted LDAPS 636, so the security posture is visible.
What is the difference between LDAP and Active Directory?
LDAP is a directory access protocol. Active Directory is Microsoft's directory service and supports LDAP alongside its other directory and authentication capabilities.
