What you type
Create a neural network diagram for a product image classifier with a 224 × 224 × 3 image input, parallel 3 × 3 and 5 × 5 convolution branches with 32 filters each, concatenated into 64 feature maps, and a softmax output for three classes.
Then tryAdd a dropout layer before the softmax output.Change the output to ten product classes.

The drawing

What a neural network diagram is.

A neural network diagram shows the main path from model inputs through learned layers to an output. It gives each stage a meaningful label, such as image input, convolution, hidden layer, LSTM, or prediction, so the architecture can be discussed without reading code.

Use a layer-level diagram to explain the model boundary and sequence. A detailed implementation document may add tensor shapes, activation functions, training data, and evaluation metrics, but those are separate from the basic architecture view.

FAQ

Common questions

What is a neural network diagram?

It is a visual overview of a neural network's inputs, layers, and outputs. It explains the structure of the model and the direction data travels through it.

What should I include in a neural network diagram?

Include the input data, the main layer types and sizes where useful, any important stages such as pooling or dropout, and the final prediction or reconstruction.

Can a neural network diagram show a CNN or LSTM?

Yes. Label convolution, pooling, recurrent, dense, or encoder-decoder stages in the order they process the input.

Is a neural network diagram the same as model code?

No. The diagram explains the architecture at a readable level; code defines exact operations, parameters, training, and deployment behavior.

Can I export a neural network diagram?

Yes. Export it as SVG, PNG, or PDF for a model review, presentation, or technical document.
