What an amplifier circuit diagram is.
An amplifier circuit diagram shows a stage that increases a signal’s voltage, current, or power. It identifies the active device, its supply rails, the bias or feedback network, the input path, and the load.
The topology determines how the stage behaves. A non-inverting op-amp uses negative feedback to set a stable gain, while a common-emitter BJT or tube stage relies on component values to establish its operating point. The schematic makes those choices inspectable.

Common questions
What amplifier types can I diagram?
You can describe inverting and non-inverting op-amp stages, BJT common-emitter stages, MOSFET and JFET preamps, tube gain stages, differential amplifiers, and audio power stages.
How is op-amp gain set?
In a feedback amplifier, resistor ratios set the closed-loop gain. A non-inverting stage has ideal gain of one plus the feedback resistor divided by the resistor to ground.
Why are coupling capacitors used in amplifiers?
They pass the AC signal while blocking DC bias from one stage from changing the operating point of the next stage or source.
Why do amplifier supplies need decoupling?
Local capacitors reduce supply noise and provide transient current close to the active device, helping avoid unwanted oscillation and signal interaction.
