What a SWOT analysis is.
A SWOT analysis puts strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats into one view. Strengths and weaknesses are internal factors, such as capabilities, capacity or cost structure. Opportunities and threats are external conditions, such as customer demand, regulation or competition.
Use the matrix to compare evidence and make choices, not to make a list of slogans. A useful SWOT item is specific enough to support an action, risk response or further research.
